Advance Behavioural Training

~ Pet Dog Training for all Breeds ~ Positive Reinforcement Methods Only ~

Advance Behavioural Training aims to give you the help and support needed to produce a well-mannered dog that you can be proud of! Canine Good Citizens™ on both ends of the lead!

Classes and private consults are available for all dogs. We aim to help you and your family get the best out of your dog, a well mannered dog becomes a valued member of the family for life!
Classes are run along Delta Society guidelines, which is a non-profit organization that aims to promote positive interaction between people and companion animals.

We use positive reinforcement methods; these training methods are reward based and motivational for both dog and owner. We aim to produce dogs that want to work for their owners all the time! No physical force or adversive punishment methods are used, therefore choker/ check chains or slip collars will not be allowed in classes or training consults. If you need some equipment to assist you and are unsure as to what you should use, make an appointment with me to fit some equipment or visit a Vet hospital that supports positive training methods for some advise and fitting of appropriate equipment. Reward based training is a less stressful approach to training and will help to produce a much stronger bond between you and your dog. It is also fun for both of you!

All dogs that want to enrol in any training classes must be up to date with vaccinations and vaccination cards must be sighted upon your first class.

Junior Puppy Preschool

  • 14-24 weeks old. Maximum of 6 dogs per class
  • Classes are held at 2-6 Taminga St, Regency Park

This course is designed similar to a normal puppy preschool class, but adapted to suit the needs of an older puppy, this way if you missed out on puppy preschool you can still do it. The first week is run with NO PUPPIES present so your instructor can get to know you and you can learn the theory behind dog training and also learn how dogs learn without the distraction of your puppy. During this week you will learn about living with a puppy and your leadership role. In the following classes puppies will learn how to give attention when asked, be calm, how to sit, drop, other manners and to come when called. Also you will learn some valuable management skills and dealing with noises and different people. Your puppy will learn how to adapt to modern living and how to fit into their environment in a way that is convenient to owners. The aim is to teach your puppy good habits and start your life-long relationship on the right foot.

Private Behavioural Consults

  • Available for specific behavioural problems and for those who would prefer the convenience of one-on-one training for their general household needs.
  • Consults by appointment only. Held in the comfort of your own home or at the training centre.
  • Initial consult: 1½ - 2 hours, appropriate for young dogs, puppies and general training (more complicated cases need a longer appointment); or 2 - 3 hours if your dog has a more complicated issue, then a per hour price for following consults, or half hour visits are available.
  • 10% discount will be offered to those purchasing a package of 2 or more visits and paying upfront.

Private consults will be designed to suit owner's needs. For those with specific problems we will have a full discussion of the dog's history during our first consult. All owners wanting one-on-one consults will be required to complete a client profile form before our first consult. More complex issues may incur a slightly higher fee (negotiable upon first discussion); long distances may incur a travel charge.

Complimentary handouts and written notes will be provided for all consults as necessary.

10% discount is available for all clients that have pension or concession cards on all training - private consults or classes.
